Mary Muter Obituary

Mary Seese Muter, beloved wife of Gary Thomas Muter, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on April 20, 2024. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mary dedicated her life to her family, her faith, and her profession as a hospice nurse.

Mary was born on December 2, 1950 to Russel and Helen Seese in Ft. Lauderdale and was the youngest of five children. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn. She is predeceased by her brother Michael, and sisters Margie and Leslie. Mary went to St. Anthony’s grade school and graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High school where she proudly served as the school mascot. Mary went on to follow her dreams and graduated with a nursing degree.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Gary. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion through her children: Angela Muter Samay (spouse Bob), Robert Dietrich Jr. (spouse Karen), Maggie Dietrich, Bill Muter (spouse Shari), and Gary Muter Jr. (spouse Kathy).

Mary cherished her role as a grandmother and took great joy in her grandchildren: Connor Dietrich, Meagan Rose, Helen Samay, Joseph Rose, Bo Samay, Brandon Dietrich, and Ava Muter. She taught them how to celebrate each of their unique characteristics and encouraged them to never lose sight of themselves.

Mary was known for her spirit, her laughter, and her caring nature, both in her personal relationships and in her professional life as a hospice nurse. She touched the lives of many through her selfless dedication to providing comfort and care to those in need. She always wore a smile and openly gave her heart to all. Her youthful nature and persistent optimism gave those around her a sense of light on their darkest days.

In addition to her devotion to her family and her work, Mary was deeply committed to her Catholic faith and was an active member of her church choir and community. She drew great strength from her faith and convictions. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will live on through the whistle of a blue jay, the charm of a shamrock, and the crack of a good joke.

Visitations for Mary will be held on April 23 at 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, Florida. A funeral service will be held to honor Mary's life on April 24 at 11 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Boca Raton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa in Mary's memory.

Mary's spirit and smile will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. May she rest in peace, knowing she made a profound impact on the lives of those around her.
